Since 2017, Laura Grohe Design, based between Geneva and Lausanne, has built a reputation for interiors and projects that balance boldness with subtlety: luxe materials, calming palettes, but always with a surprise or an unexpected detail.
For this exhibition, Moinat’s entire archive was the toybox: pieces full of history, layered textures, and a resulting fresh and light dinning room – a space you want to linger in… a room that seems to whisper, “Look at this. And that. What will you discover next?”
The Moinat building was the setting — but also a creative partner in the project. Charles-Emile Moinat & Fils SA, family-run since 1920, is deeply rooted in decoration, restoration, antiques, bespoke furniture, and craftsmanship.
Their workshops — upholsterers, cabinetmakers, seamstresses, painters, and so on — all work under one roof. Atelier Guggisberg, now part of the Moinat family and a long-time partner of Laura Grohe, supports professionals in creating bespoke interiors: custom fabrics, handmade furniture, colors, finishes, detailed design. In this exhibition, that expertise shines through: every object feels as though it has passed through hands that understand heritage — and aren’t afraid of it.
Walking through the exhibition feels less like a showroom and more like stepping into an idealistic world. The scenography is theatrical without ever going too far. In an age where interiors often lean toward minimalism and safety, this exhibition at Moinat is a reminder: character is built in layers. Craft matters. The story behind an object — who painted it, restored it, carved it, or stitched it — matters, and that’s what makes beauty. Laura Grohe’s curation respects that narrative, while Moinat provides its frame. For lovers of design, for those dreaming of unique homes, this exhibition is both a gift and a guide.
